~ Chattanooga Urban Ministries Center Mission Statement ~ We will lead and inspire youth and adults to a higher realm of thinking. We will help children of all ages to discover how to live a more joyful and peaceful lifestyle with Jesus Christ and each other. All our activities will assist participants in understanding and meeting the basic need of a fulfilling Life: (Acceptance; Self-Control; Confidence; Independence; Respect for other and self; Love and Security). We will work hard daily to revive the faltering spirits and characters of hard living individuals. Our main focus is to lead, inspire and lift up individuals to a higher realm of thinking. We will work hard to provide solutions to the repetitive patterns that exist in hard living individuals with at risk behaviors, by establishing a personal relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The Center will provide a holistic approach to developing moral character, which involves developing self-love, love for others and love for the community. This comprehensive approach promotes the foundation of love, God, and by uplifting our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Brothers and Sisters in Christ will serve as customers and staff to the individuals at the Center. (Brothers & Sisters mission scripture) We will lift the spirit of individuals to a higher realm of positive thinking: A person's spiritual growth determine the person's character and behavior. The spirit or quality of mind enables one to face danger or hardship resolutely. We will inspire individuals to change their character by providing a combination of emotional, intellectual, spiritual and moral stability that produces positive behaviors and attitudes. We will facilitate to strengthen the mind by providing the opportunity for individuals to learn the basic skills needed to think, reason, acquire and apply peace-making/problem solving skills in every aspect of life. We will teach individuals to lead others to the love of God and to establish an everlasting relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
