| CURRENT EVENTS: Memorial Day Reunion 2010 -- We gathered together at Booker T. State Park over the Memorial Day weekend -- to celebrate the Gospel and to get to know our Lord. Our theme this year: "Jesus has got your back!" He does...and He did -- in more ways than we can describe here! It was a Yo Buddy event -- Terry, Jimmy, Jared and Eric led the way and our young leaders group stepped up to the plate offering prayer, support...and plenty of helping hands. We celebrated two baptisms...enjoyed novel songs around the campfire...and laughed into the night! We listened to the Word of God...and we took the time for "getting real." We prayed, cried, worshipped and sat at His feet...as the Holy Spirit moved among young and old. Our guests from Chicago were invaluable and dearly appreciated. In short, we were a community of Christ...imperfect, challenged, but determined to learn and grow together...to take steps forward together...to fellowship together. God is not finished with us yet, but we know it is not about us -- it is about Him. It may take us several days to recover...we're all pretty worn out...but in a good sort of way. And there is always next year! Yo Buddy! |
