been blessed to find a people of great love and faith. The people of the Chattanooga Urban Ministries offer a great faith and

Jimmy has been an ordained minister for more than 30 years. He has worked as a full-time
missionary for the past 20 years. He was born in Pana, Illinois. After high school, he worked
as a coal miner. Jimmy was a 5th generation coal miner. After the mine shut down, he worked
as a sales manager for a cable television company. He also worked as a newspaper editor and
a private investigator. Jimmy has served as a church planter/pastor in Tennessee since August
of 1992.
Jimmy Munson is our chief mentor and lead church planter/senior pastor. He is the veteran of
our team with more than 30 years experience as an ordained minister, missionary & church
planter. Besides supporting our team with his experience, strong mentoring, & in your face
leadership, Mr. Jimmy is our crisis minister and a bold witness for Jesus Christ.. Miss Kathy
is his bride of 30 years who keeps all of us in line.  
 He has been married to his wife Kathy for 30 years. She is an employee of the City of
Chattanooga. She is also an ordained minister. They have one son, Jared. Jared is now a
young adult and now employed as the full time Pastor for the Chattanooga Urban Ministries.
He is engaged  to Jenny Klee of Arkansas. Sister Jenny is attending medical school in Little
Rock. Pastor Jared and Jenny are planning to be married in 2010. Jared attended Graceland
University & University of Tennessee in Chattanooga.
